Tom's BBQ - East Mesa

Had seen Tom's when driving by a few times, but never stopped. We shouldn't have waited. Loaded BBQ Potato out did the 'local' best from my brother's farm community - at least that's what he told me since he wouldn't share as he shoveled it away. I enjoyed an Italian sausage with everything on it. Sides were ample and tasted great.

One of the best BBQ places I have ever had here in Arizona. I will forever come to this restaurant. No other place can compare to Tom's BBQ. A simple BBQ sandwich is something I always get along with the Mac Daddy. They also have a really nice spicy BBQ sauce that I always get and they do sell bottles of it as well. This location also has a nice little bar.

So after driving by this place for years I finally had a chance to give this place a go. Well I should have gone a lot sooner! Ended up getting there a little early for dinner and found they had early bird specials! Had a nice cold beer while deciding what I wanted and went with the pulled pork meal. It was hot, juicy and tasty! Their BBQ sauce I had mixed with the spicy and the regular made the perfect pairing(suggested by the server). I opted for the cornbread, coleslaw and fries; none of these choices were regretted at all! The server was friendly as fast. I now have make an excuse to get over way more often.

Went here for a late lunch with some friends who recommended Tom’s BBQ. I got the Chicago grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken breast was huge. It was good. My wife got the Pride & Joy smoked sausage sandwich and she enjoyed it. The pecan pie was warm and delicious. My wife wants to go back to try the Italian beef sandwich. Parking can be a little challenging.

The service was great prompt and courteous. As first timers they brought out a complimentary basket of home made chips. They were delicious. We had ordered the meat sampler platter for two with cornbread, beans and mac n cheese. All the sides were good beans were the best. Not over powering in sauce flavour. The meat sampler platter was tasty and good size portion. The 2 sauces we had were the mild and hot BBQ. I found them rather over powering however my wife enjoyed immensely. I found the meats all very tasty and stood well by themselves without dipping into sauce the BBQ flavour great. I personally found too much fat drippings which did upset my stomach. The only downside I found was plastic cutlery. If its a full service sit down metal cutlery would be far better IMHO.
