Matta's Mexican Food

Taking a quilting class nearby and decided to do lunch. Wonderful. I had the green chili beef enchiladas. I highly suggest this place as the food is great and price is reasonable.

My husband and I stopped in here for lunch this week and we loved the food. I had a shredded beef chimichanga and it was great! The meat was perfect, not dry or chewy. My husband did the carne asada burrito and it was so big he had a hard time finishing it. It was delicious! The salsa was so good we had to buy a few jars to take home. I'm not a super big fan of the seating arrangement, I feel like its meant to be more of a takeout than a dine in. We will definitely eat here again but probably takeout to enjoy at home. Price point is excellent and the staff was really kind and attentive.

I heard that Mattas opened an east Mesa restaurant to my delight being a longtime Mesa resident I felt the need to rediscover the teste from long ago. Well I found Great Food, Great service again. Servings are plentiful as to have left overs and a fair price. The 3 star Atmosphere is that it is a strip mall set up and grab your own fountain drink, on my day it was great sitting outside with the view of the Superstations Mts. What could be better? Andale!!! (that's latino for Woo Hoo!)

The good: the fish tacos were delicious and so was the crushed red chili sauce. They delivered my food to my table.

The bad: they messed up my order even though it was super slow. They didn't offer to fix it. They only brought part of my order to the table. The tortilla chips were stale. Prices seemed a little high for the quality of food. Food prep time was slow, given I was the only person in the restaurant. Tables were dirty even though business was slow.

Great spot to pick up traditional Mexican food. They have been in business since the 50’s. This location is new. We plan on going back.
