Really excellent sushi and service.
Highly recommended
Nagoya Sushi is our new favorite! Their rolls are delicious, the portions are great and the ratios are perfect. All of this without breaking the bank. Both times my husband and I have been, they gave us complimentary samples and have consistently amazing customer service. I highly recommend!
Nagoya is run by the owner who is present, working, in a daily basis and he takes pride in the quality of the food that is served. Paul, the owner greets everyone as they enter.
The food is fabulous and well prepared. There is a great variety of items on the menu. The dining area is not huge but is welcoming and comfortable. Every time I visit my father, we always make a stop here.
The food was very tasty. I had a spicy tuna roll. Beautiful on a long plate. That pretty much makes a meal in itself.
My companions also had wonderful dishes and compliments to the chef.
However, I have to take one star off for a confusing menu that is just a strip of paper. Maybe for someone who is used to ordering Sushi that's nothing, but for someone who rarely goes out for sushi, we really do need a menu with pictures and quantities and information. Why would you make us have to ask 20 questions just to make an order?
And the food servers seemed a little more concerned with sitting down and arranging straws then they were I'm paying attention to their customers. One person didn't move from that straw table while the other one kept having to pop up sit down pop-up sit down pop up. Folks, that's the kind of thing you do behind the scenes not taking up a customer table. And also you really should put the ice machine in back as well. No one wants to hear you clunk ice into a cup while they're having a conversation nearby.
They do have a website where you can see some pictures of the food but there is still no descriptions of what you get so be prepared to ask the food server what's inside any dish you're interested in. If you can make it through the confusing ordering process oh, you will enjoy the food very much.
We lovingly refer to this place as "Cheap Sushi", not as a reference to the quality, but to the great value offered here. The menu is fairly basic but everything is always very well crafted and fresh. The non-sushi menu is very good and always well cooked, as well. The staff is excellent, inviting, and friendly. They seem to recognize us from our visits and treat us like friends. There may be other Sushi places that we choose for special occasions over Nagoya but this is our "main" sushi-joint.
