Mel's Diner

I would drive by this place and wonder if it was still open for business. Some colleagues of mine frequent this place and took me along for lunch one day. I really enjoyed the throwback nature of the diner. Food is delicious and homey.

Fun stop off the path on Phoenix. The staff is friendly, although only the outside of the diner was used for the show. The burgers were really good. The open-faced roast beef was not good. The beef was rubbery, although gravy and mash potatoes were tasty. Wish they sold souvenirs.

Good food. Only open till 2pm so wanna get their around noon. Place is steady. Decent service friendly staff more or less just wanted to check it out because of the history between the restraunt and hit show from 1976 to 1985 Mel's diner.

Fantastic and engaging staff, never inattentive, a classic diner. The mushroom Swiss was great, but could have used 3-4 more mushrooms. It should be noted the fries on the plate were of a temperature that can be closer related to that of lava...this is a good thing.

Go here, repeatedly.

Great place to get good food. Friendly service. If you are a fan of this show, there is some familiars to the TV show though set is not like on TV series. Place shows its years but it was worth the trip. A must for any visitor to area.
