Monroe's Hot Chicken

The food here is outstanding--the chicken was spicy and fresh, and the seasoning on the fries was also really tasty.

However, I think the prices are definitely too high for the amount of food you get, even if the quality is great. That, and the limited hours, are definitely keeping me from falling in love with the place.

I was so excited to see a Hot Chicken restaurant finally come to Phoenix. I was not disappointed. The chicken was very juicy, and the medium spice was about the perfect amount of spice (I will actually get the next hottest next time). The ordering setup is different, but easy and efficient. The soda fountain is also unique. The fries were tasty, but could've used a little more seasoning. The price is higher than most places, which will drive some people away, but the size of the sandwich is large enough to compensate. Will definitely return.

Delicious chicken, and im not a big fan of soda, but the lemon berry soda they had was great. Line moved quick and the staff was friendly. I do want to go back and see if I can handle a hotter spice level. However, sandwich, soda and fries for +$20 is the only reason it wasn't 5 stars. I should point out they did have good music bumping, which made it a bit difficult to have a conversation. It didn't bother me too much because they had GOOD music and it contribute to the fun atmosphere of the restaurant.

At first I was surprised they charged $12 just for a sandwich (sides and a drink are extra), but after seeing the size of the sandwich and how full it made me I realized it was well worth the cost.

The sandwich was really delicious and the quality and taste reminded me of Chick-fil-A but with extra heat and goodness. I got medium spice and it was perfect for tasting the heat but still enjoying the food. My friend went for their hottest level (what the cluck) and after the first bite regretted their decision because it was over the top hot.

I'll definitely be back.

The sandwhich is where to start! The coleslaw and pickles are perfect with the spicy chicken and brioche bun. The owner helped us make our selections and everyone was super friendly. Nashville style chicken is no joke - ordering the "hot" chicken was humbling. Thankfully the sodas are self-serve and they have lots of tasty agave-sweetened options to choose from. Overall it was a great first experience!!
