Ok so I've been a huge supporter of rito's restaurant over the years. They are a true success story and a testament of the American dream. The first time I tried their food was I believe in the late 80s before high school. Let me just say that there is no comparison to the kind of cooking and cuisine that they serve anywhere. it's so authentic and so homestyle that you feel like you are eating your Nana's food. Every single dish is prepared exquisitely. I have never had a had a bad experience at their Garfield location and tonight for the first time I decided to try crown King, I am so genuinely happy and proud for Rito's/ family restaurant. They have done an extraordinary job a passing on their same recipes and flavors to the newer upscale restaurant on Bethany and 7th Street. To me they aren't only "The best of Phoenix" but I believe they are one of the best in the country. A true Mexican authentic experience... So Delicious!
Salsa was watered down & the refried beans had no flavor. Street corn was mediocre. BUT the crispy chicken tacos were excellent! Will try the crispy beef tacos if I go back.
Was there for dinner tonight had a large party and our serve was amazing. This restaurant really is a team and it was a great environment. My niece and her boyfriend had some drinks and they enjoyed them. Loved everything. Will be back.
"New Mexico style" Mexican food. Pretty tasty red sauce, but too thick on the tortilla... not enough filling. Price was higher than anticipated for this type of food. Restaurants visual appeal is done well in an urban contemporary vibe. May return, may not. Was a good experience but this is AZ, and there's no shortage of Mexican food contenders.
I was scared to try this location because I've been eating at the original for over 30 years, but the food is every bit as good. The decor is fresh and modern and they serve beer, wine and cocktails. In my personal opinion, Rito's is and always has been the best in town (since 1977). EAT AT RITO'S! SUPPORT LOCAL!
