Southern Delights Restaurant

The food is delicious! It’s a bit of a wait but thats because they cook it fresh to order. They can fry good chicken and the Mac n cheese green beans as sides were on point. Pricey but very good quality!

Omg, this is a must stop restaurant for a Southern comfort meal. If you don't have experience cooking southern style food or have the time to cook, you'll definitely get your fix here. All meat is cooked to order so there is a bit of a wait, but it's not longer than 20 minutes. Order ahead and you'll be good, unless you eat at the restaurant.

I can so far recommend getting the Fried Shrimp plate, the shrimp are fried perfectly and very well seasoned. I also recommend the smothered pork chops and for sides grab the collard greens, green beans or Mac and cheese. I also liked that I could get some peach cobbler, something I've been wanting for years.

Really good food and really nice people.

First review of this new restaurant: Lucky for us food lovers, Southern Delights Restaurant is now open! It has always surprised me that for a city that has so many residents with Southern ancestry, that there are not many restaurants that specialize in real Southern food of any type. Of course, there is the venerable Mrs White's Golden Rule Cafe, and Lolo's but in a city this big, one would expect more Southern-style restaurants.
Southern Delights Restaurant is a step in the right direction to bring more Southern cooking to the Phoenix area.
I just ate there a bit ago, and the first thing one notices is the scent of a real southern kitchen. It is homey and welcoming. I had the fried pork chops --which were huge and delicious-- and two sides, substantial sides, not the little spoonful portions that so many restaurants try to pass of as sides. I had the expertly-prepared collard greens and really first-rate macaroni and cheese. The cornbread was tasty, too.
I intend to return and go through their menu. I was not raised on southern cooking, but was exposed to it enough as a child to like and appreciate it. The food was well prepared, the portions were good, and the owners are very lovely, friendly people. Try it!

I work right across the street & this place is our new lunch favorite! The food was amazing. Cooked fresh and seasoned to perfection. Big portions, you get your money’s worth for-sure. The family was very nice & welcoming & we wish them the best in their new business! I’m very excited to try their desserts & new menu items that will be coming up soon. We will see you guys next week for lunch again, thanks guys!

We went in today for the first time and this place is amazing! True down home southern cooking. Everything was cooked fresh and it was delicious. We loved the catfish, cornbread, cooked cabbage, macaroni and cheese and banana pudding and lemon pound cake!! I would recommend everybody try this place out, we were thoroughly impressed.
