Such an awesome spot! We just had a bottle of Mourvèdre and some of the bruschetta. It was a really nice dry red and was great. The food was also great. Very beautiful outdoor space. The inside is really bright and beautiful. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend.

Always a favorite stop in Sonoita and probably the most relaxing and beautiful dog-friendly, people-meeting/mountain grassland viewing vineyard around. And wow, James Callaghan can make some wine! Bone dry, beautiful french, spanish and italian varietals. We loved everything we tasted. They also have loaded charcuterie boards if you're hungry. We didn't want to leave.

As some one who spends a lot of time in Sonoma County (west), this reminds me of west county... with funk, charm and really an understanding of how to make wine hit the pallet with flavor, texture, and attitude. Thank you for creating such an amazing oasis in the desert.

Stopped by on a windy Saturday afternoon. We had our silver lab with us, so we were so happy it was dog friendly and found a beautiful area outside that was private and shaded overlooking the vineyard and mountains. Great view! Very nice and informative staff. $13 for a tasting of 5 unique wines, a rose', a white and 3 reds. One red stood out, and we bought a bottle of the Graciano to take home. They did have some food choices, which was nice to know. Very peaceful, relaxing stop.

Rune is a sleek little winery that has the perfect vibe — minimalistic but sophisticated, with crafted detail at every turn. The tasting room is a solar-powered eye-catcher, with a soaring ceiling, smooth-line bar, and well-stocked merch shelves, but the prime draw is outdoors, where tiered seating areas offer panoramic views of the grasslands and surrounding mountains. As serious hikers who enjoy "al fresco everything," we sank into the chairs and felt as though we could stay there all day (practically did, with guitar and snacks in hand). From shade sails and stone-ringed fire pits to natural DG walk paths, the spaces have an exceptionally organic fit to the surroundings, and we thoroughly enjoyed being able to do our hosted tasting outside too. We were also impressed with the menu — house-made hummus, burrata, caprese salad, fresh sandwiches, and more. It's clear that winemaker James and team have put careful thought into every element of this place, right down to the edgy narrative art on the labels of all the wine bottles.
