Tops Bar-B-Q Marion

This restaurant is an all American classic, serving their Memphis style dry rubbed ribs and pork sandwiches for decades. Everything comes out hot and fresh and the prices are right too. Great service at the counter and take out window. Highly recommend.

I really wanted to give this place a good revies after reading some of the others, but I have to be honest. I was really craving some BBQ on my way home when I came across this place so I stopped in. I got the sampler & a large sweet tea & paid $18.85. Kind of expensive for a drive through place, but good BBQ is worth it. First off the tea was great, the apple turnover which was really just a friend pie was good, but it could've used a little bit of sweet on the outside. The ribs were very dry & seemed like they had been cut/sitting out a while, but the flavor was nice. The chopped pork was tender, but flavorless, something a good BBQ sauce would usually fix, but the (mild) sauce I got was very sour & tasted old. The brisket was also flavorless & had an old taste to it, kind of like it had been sitting out for days & had spoiled. The potato salad was alright at first until I found the entire half of an egg & it was very tough (could be because of the mustard in the salad though). They could definitely do better.

I truly believe Tops Bar-B-Q in Marion is underrated. These folks are putting out some TOP NOTCH barbeque folks! It's so good! I'm gonna keep coming back 'cause the baked beans are off the hook! ???????? Great customer service too!
