Since I no longer live here, I don't visit this place as often. It was one of my mom's favorite places to eat as it is located close to JC Penney's and the Dollar Tree. I love that they have a hibachi grill along with serving sushi rolls (not to be confused with sushi -meat on a bed of rice) along with a wide variety of buffet items. In honor of my mom that is no longer with us, I ate her in her memory as Golden Corral was packed. It was good to sit alone and remember the last time we ate here. Even though the place was packed, they were able to cater to everyone's needs without a hitch. You can't help but be impressed with this type of service.
Really enjoyed their dinner buffet. I had some sort of polish sausage and onions, which I'm not used to seeing on a Chinese buffet, with very good green beans, again not something I'd usually enjoy at a Chinese buffet, and probably the best fried rice I've ever had from a buffet, so it was quite a surprise and I really enjoyed it. Lots of selection, but I enjoyed those 3 items so much, I didn't eat much else. My only complaint would be their sushi needs some work. Very small portions of the fillers, like avocado, inside each piece, so it didn't have the flavor I was hoping for. I love sushi, but skipped it altogether after one taste because it just didn't look or taste great. Everything else is wonderful.
I ate here Easter Sunday and was seated in booth D3. The assigned waitress did nothing for me ( only serving three booths at this time). She would glance over at me, but not one time did she attend to my needs. I ended up getting the cashier (which, by the way is who seated me) to bring me extra napkins, and when I was ready to leave, he also had to write out my food slip. He provided me with a take out cup for my drink as well. I tipped him, he only for my service and made it know to him that my waitress should get nothing.
I have eaten there on several occasions and was always pleased with the service. It was top-notch, but not this time. I she would have had many booths to attend to I would have understood, but she never had more than 4 tables at any one time while I was there.
I shall return with the expectation of awesome service and meal as had been before Easter Sunday. Everyone is entitled to a bad day!
New owners, new atmosphere! Loved everything about this place! Went in close to close (apologies), and even then, food was hot, fresh, and delicious! The service was outstanding, as we didn't have a drink get lower than half a glass. And the changes made to the hibachi and sushi bar are wonderful! Well lit, and appetizing, nothing about this great buffet disappointed. If you want old school, all you can eat buffet at a very reasonable price, do not slip on China Town!
Pretty average but if you like shrimp you’ll love the place; there’s I think 6 or 7 different variations of them. The food was hot and plenty of other options but nothing was great. Service was just okay too.
