Authentic Mexican food, complimentary frijoles charros with indoor dining. Great caldos (soups), sopes and gorditas. They also have tortas, tacos and much more!

This should really be a 3.5 star but I'll just round up. The food was only luke warm, kind of the opposite of the normal flaming hot plates at Mexican joints. The beans and rice are average. The tacos (2 asada and 1 campechanos) were ok but the meat was a bit dry.
I also had a fish taco which was really good but light on the amount of fish. I was expecting the usual single fish filet but instead got small chopped chunks.
Perhaps some of the other meat choices might be better and with their cheap prices I'd say it's worth a try if you haven't been there yet.

We travel to Mexico quite a bit and LOVE the authentic foods. Especially the tacos!

Taqueria El Macho delivered bigtime and is now our new favorite place!

Great job on cooking the chicken. Tacos were excellent. Strange to see a bag of cilantro and onion that you add yourself. The good news is they give you plenty.

The rice could use more flavor/ingredients. I don't like when places put peas/corn (I also don't like peas in general) and that doesn't really belong in Mexican rice anyway. This is more similar to Spanish rice. It could use maybe some cilantro, onion and lime... at least.

Green salsa is not hot at all and it's basically kinda like water with salsa flavor. The red is relatively spicy and has good flavor. For some reason they gave 5 containers of salsa instead of 4 or 6, so that's odd. they also didn't fill one of the green ones more than a third of the way.

For someone else I ordered asada tacos and an asada burrito. They reported the tacos were really good and the burrito had unchewable meat, was too hot (like it was microwaved) to the point it was difficult to eat, and it had stringy cheese in it. I was told it's similar to the cheese Taqueria Gonzalez uses but stringier (like pizza cheese). On the phone, they never said there was cheese in the burrito.

When I ordered the first item the employee asked if I ordered already, which was odd. She did hear what I said so I don't know why she asked me that. After ordering she stuck the paper up there in the kitchen area and didn't really interact with me until her co-worker asked if she got the payment.

After further discussion with the person who ate the burrito and said it seemed microwaved, I've come to the conclusion they must have had it sitting around for someone else so they microwaved it and gave it to me. The reason for this is they were talking to each other about an order that was placed and they didn't know who it belonged to. Along with the question they asked me about if I ordered already, the moment I ordered the asada burrito, this is a pretty compelling case for this being what happened. I also saw the ticket they were discussing had only 1 item on it.

I don't think they realize I understood what they were saying. I'm from Los Angeles and took 2 years Spanish as well. Speaking of that, they were very confused when communicating to each other. It seems like they need to iron out some communication and efficiency problems as a new business. They were friendly and polite overall, though.

I was going to give it 4/5 until the situation in the final paragraph. Based on the information obtained while there and from the person eating the asada burrito and tacos, I am convinced it was some leftover order they microwaved.

According to their menu, they charge $1.50 for refills too... regardless of drink size. Seems pretty silly for such a populated town and for an item that generates extreme profits. Most places give free refills pretty much everywhere now. Not competitive at all. $2.99 for large and then $1.50 per refill. At best you would be paying $4.49 for 2 of their large drinks (unknown ounces) minus the amount of ice they choose to put in it.

Wasn't trying to take a picture of the staff, just the menu because the ones online are poor quality... but I think the lady smiled because she knew I was taking a picture. Not that she wasn't polite or anything.. I was going to cut the people out in the crop but didn't realize the menu went down so low on the right. Oh well. If they had an issue with me taking pictures they could have said something, so I'm posting it. The guy who handed me the order was cool too.

To sum it up, don't just find other people's orders and microwave them, do add more to the green salsa and rice, do fill the salsa cups all the way, and don't give an odd number of salsa cups. Wouldn't hurt to include more than 2 lime wedges for 6 tacos, a burrito, 3 sides of rice and a side of beans, either....
