So what can I say about Franks? Really the first thing is that you need to try them for yourself. I’ve been trying to find places around my towns that are “local”… I am tired of the chain places that are all about the sales and they give up on the customer and quality. Well Franks does not do either of these. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile and welcome. And that didn’t stop once we made our purchase. Several times during the meal, we had someone ask how we are doing, or how is everything, and even if there was anything else that we needed. So now about the food… I got a Chicago Dog, which was fantastic!!! The seasoning and fixings were top notch. One of the best Chicago dogs I have had outside of actually being in Chicago! I also got a Yankee dog and a BLT dog. Both of these were so unique and extremely good. The kraut was so flavorful and who can go wrong with a dog wrapped in bacon??? While the indoor dining was not crowded at all (we went on a Thursday night) the Drivethru was hoping! If you are craving a good flavorful hot dog… Franks is your place! We will be going back
Accidentally stumbled upon this little gem while looking for some foodage. Had heard from “The Mighty Rib” that this place was pretty good, and was glad we landed in the same parking lot of it by chance.
I had the double cheeseburger and fries, and they were hot and super fresh. Barely a 5 minute wait for them, and better than ANY local fast food burger by a landslide. If I remember correctly the cheeseburger was $6 and the fries were $2. TOTALLY worth it.
My sister and I tried Franks for the first time yesterday and we were hella impressed. The owner greeted us to explain the menu and answer any questions we had. I ordered the Build Your Own Dog and asked for mine with chili,
cheese, and onions. I also ordered a side of fries and a drink. I don’t know remember which dog my sister got but it had mustard, onions, and relish. The buns were buttery and toasted and the chili was delicious. It is definitely homemade as it was thick and flavorful. They added the perfect amount on the hotdog. My sister liked it so much that she went back and got chili cheese fries. The only complaint we have is they used nacho cheese instead of shredded cheese.
I will be back again. I love supporting black businesses!
The dogs we ordered were some of the best we have ever eaten. Beats the gourmet dogs and the other local ones. The service was top notch and the most friendly and helpful gentleman I’ve ever encountered at any restaurant. A definite must try. UPDATE: the burgers are some of the best I’ve had. I order the double cheeseburger with fries a couple times a week. Large enough to fill my belly for the entire day.
Nacho Mama's hot dog was awesome! Great bun that wasn't soggy, tasty dog that was juicy and delicious, not your average dog. Loaded with cheese and onions and peppers. House chili was pretty good. Needs more of a beefy base to it but not bad at all. Put it over fries and it's tasty. Fries were crispy and salty and fresh and hot. The double cheeseburger was probably the best burger we've found north of the Arkansas river with its brioche bun and Angus patties. Friendly folks and food was out fast. Cost about $25 for two of us with drinks.
