“Cafe Rue Orleans is a breath of fresh air bringing authentic New Orleans flavors and dishes to the mid west. Finding authentic anything in the mid west can be tricky, and the food my wife and I ate here was even better than what we had when we visited New Orleans. I have been experimenting with creating my own unique Creole dishes by reading authentic cooking pages on the internet and then adapting the recipes or guidelines to my own taste. The food I had at this restaurant looked, smelled, and tasted very similar to some of the things I have made over the years. Which was a very pleasant surprise. There is nothing more disappointing to me than leaving a restaurant knowing I could have cooked something better myself at home, and this did not disappoint! My only gripe was with the facility, while I did like the vibe of being attached to an old hotel, making it feel a tad bit more authentic. There was a nasty corner of the floor where I was sitting with an old build up of greasy mop water with flies buzzing around it. Also, the men's restroom door did not latch, and had a flimsy lock to keep the door shut. I will definitely be coming back to eat here soon.”

“Can’t say enough good things about our experience with this location! We ordered a large amount of chicken fingers for a tailgate. The game was early, so when I ordered over the phone the sweet young lady on the phone told me how they could help us get everything on time. They agreed to have them ready before normal business hours.... which we greatly appreciated. When I arrived everything was ready to go as promised. The young lady who helped us (Emily) was delightful. She was friendly, polite and helpful. I would highly recommend this place based on the level of service and the chicken was good too.”

“Husband was introduced to this place through his coworker and had it for the first time last week. He mentioned it to me at least three times this week and raved about how delicious the food was. We went there today for lunch and it was excellent! The server was extremely friendly and the prices were great. Our steak, rice, and veggies were on point! Delicious meal! I’m not sure why people reviewed that the portions were small for the price - I couldn’t eat everything on my plate because the portion was actually quite large. Two large heaps of fried rice and an impressive portion of steak and veggies is enough for two meals in one. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant and will bring my family there when they’re in town for the holidays.”

But the absolute best part is the employees they have always all been excellent to me, but I have to give MAJOR props to Dane. “This is a neat food truck by two twin sisters. Although I am unsure if they are still a food truck right now. They offer baked donuts that have well sourced and high quality ingredients. The menu changes per season and my personal favorite is the chocolate covered strawberry donut. It's moist, rich, lightly fruity, and topped off with a juicy chocolate covered strawberry. You definitely eat this donut with your eyes first because the presentation is on point. The only reason this isn't 5 starts is because they don't maintain a set schedule that is consistent.”

“We called and rented out the backroom(which is free by the way) because we had a lot of people that were coming and they did a fantastic job. The food was great and really affordable. Even though they were pretty busy with just a couple of waitresses the service was fantastic. They consistently came back and checked in on us for refills, napkins, ect... even though we had the doors closed sometimes. Definitely recommend and we will come back.”
