I came here thinking it was a filipino place as soon as I saw "ka-re," as in kare-kare, but was quick to realize it wasn't when katsu was listed among other stuff. Not a good time to come the place was doing third-party delivery and takeout only due to covid-19. I persue menu a family came in asking if they still serve dessert. Didn't know it used to be SweetHoney Dessert, but did remember Radio Shack before moving to sin city. And besides there's a SweetHoney in vegas too.
The guy at the counter was pretty cool acknowledge my presence didn't rush me or pressure to purchase pricer items. He was cool, calm, and collected continue on with his task until I was ready.
Got the original katsu sando, it was really hot can smell the oil which was fresh, not rancid. Bread and pork cutlet were the same size edge-to-edge no end or butt pieces like a cookie cutter came straight down on it cleanly. When I saw that, I knew it was going to be a good sando and boy, this thing was the best I had in a while and I'm not kidding or exaggerating. Sando was held together with bamboo skewer, but didn't see that and lifted the whole thing out with second half nearly fell apart. Big smile on face cutlet is golden brown and crisp-on-the-oitside nice and crunchy texture, and fully cooked, and breaded, and naturally tender. Will definitely repeat one more time before heading home.

This place no longer sells desserts. It’s now a Japanese curry restaurant. They did very little to the inside of the restaurant and looks the same as the old place.
Order at the register and get a number. The food is brought to you.
The curry is pretty good but I went for a sandwich.
Plenty of parking.
Cute dessert place and priced reasonably. The Mango mochi is not like Japanese mochi but still good. I loved my Black thai rice with Mango
Finally, a legit Hing Kong dessert place in Alameda. Service is good. Open til midnight and this place serves hot tea, not like in Mountain View.
If you havent tried Chinese desserts before, it is less sweet, focused on milk custards, jellies, red beans, mangoes and fruit. If you have a sensitive nose, stay away. They serve stinky durian fruit. It wasn't bad when we went but the room can be filled with the smell of foot very fast.
We had mango mochi, mango crepe cake, red bean steamed milk custard and rice balls topped with peanuts and seasme seeds. All delicious and not too filling. Great addition to Alameda's culinary offerings.
Best kickback spot in San Leandro. A place where family and friends get to unite and enjoy a delicious dessert til midnight. Love it!! Highly recommend!!
