Everything was fire. From the moment we walked in, we vibed with the the host (possibly the owner) on the music/ambience. That jukebox and music library is off the hook. Then my boy Anthony took care of us (Happy Birthday) and killed it. Both the Mexican scramble and California breakfast changed lives.
Really nice atmosphere with lots of people on the weekends. Come expecting a wait time of 30min to an hour on weekends but you can wander the shops and area around it. The food is good .
Bette's was great! I had to try the souffle pancake and it was delicious! Very fluffy, soft texture and the banana rum flavor was very good. Also loved my double cappuccino, I didn't need to add any sugar at all.
Really great diner in Berkeley! The pancakes are like edible delicious pillows, and I almost always go for the pancake special. The lemon ricotta pancakes are the best. The atmosphere is very crowded diner, so it's up to you if that sounds good. The giant suspended pie slice above the entrance is part of the experience. The waits can be pretty long on the weekend, but head down to Artis for a coffee while you wait!
Part of Bette’s experience is waiting for your name to be called.. so be ready to wait 20-30 minutes watching other people eat and all the cute dogs that walk before you can enjoy your meal. Note: it’s worth the wait.. if you can.
