Katalina’s Island Grill NEVER disappoints!!

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for a while. My favorite dish to get from here is the spinach with corn beef, rice & turkey tail. For a mom & pop restaurant, I don’t mind paying the price— the taste & customer service is a plus!

I recently placed a catering order with Katalina’s Island Grill for an event my club was hosting at Chabot College. This was my first time placing a catering order with them and I must say, it was well worth it!! The order was made 2 weeks in advance, with a set time & date.

We ordered enough food to feed 200 people. Since they’ve done this a lot, they were super helpful with estimating how much trays of food was needed. We ordered 2 entree trays: teriyaki chicken & lu pulu (taro leaves & corn beef— MY FAV!!), 2 side trays: rice & plantains, 3 trays of dessert: banana bread (THE BEST) & pineapple pie, & 10 gallons of Otai (our cultural Mango drink). I was impressed when they contacted me saying my order was ready for pick up... it was a very busy day for me & I was running a lil late. They even offered to drop it off to Chabot College instead of me having to make a stop at their restaurant to pick it up.

We recieved a lot of compliments during and after our event. One of the staff members even shared with us how he went back to get a fourth plate... lol.

It’s a hole in the wall that’s definitely worth your money & taste buds!

Good island food price a little bit much can use a little clean up in the restaurant and make it look and feel welcoming. It's a little dark inside need more lighting.

The BEST plate lunch I've had in a long time! Turkey tails, Samoan banger, laulau, curry chicken, chicken long rice, with sweet potato, taro & banana.

The sisters who run the place are full of smiles and the 'island aloha', that I grew up around...

We want them open a food truck & come over to the peninsula!!!
