TLDR: food and price deserve 5+ but ordering and kitchen logistics were really bad at the beginning.
We visited this place in the first week it opened. We arrived a bit late so our food came fast, but server told us there was a major mess in the kitchen and I saw servers struggling with multiple orders from other customers, so there’s still a huge room for improvement on logistics.
Aside from that, foods are pretty good (very authentic northern China taste) with very reasonable price. I’d try this place later again, hopefully they could figure out a better service plan.
The menu has various local dishes from different cuisines, not only Peking dishes. Well, the menu is much prettier and fancier than the real food, and especially some of the pictures are totally different look from the reality. Taste is good for the price, and portion is quite good. The price is so cheap, especially comparing to local other restaurants.
The waiter who took our order looked tired, and slow responded to us. When we finished eating, there was another waiter who was more friendly and with smiles. So I give a 4 star for the second waiter.
Very friendly service; gave me an appetizer for free because of a small mistake for a takeout order
Food tastes good to me.
An authentic Beijing food restaurant. We ordered tofu "flower", fish and pork dumplings, pork buns, pork liver soup and Chinese donuts. They are all great with big portions. Chinese donuts, 油条are the best in the bay area. We also bought some frozen fish dumplings since they are very tasty. We'll definitely go back.
