New Gold Medal Restaurant

It's a great casual dining place for good Cantonese meals, from congees to barbeque meats to finer fresh seafood and meat dishes. It is also one of the very few places to find my favorite Cantonese fried sweet dough 牛脷酥 that goes especially well with congees. It's open till 3 am. So it is also a nice place for late night meals.

Good for late night snack. I recommend their won ton and congee.

I grew up coming to the Paramount. My 1st time I was 8 yrs.old The NutCracker 1970.

Got takeout on Christmas, so wasn't expecting a whole lot, but food was surprisingly good. I am a meat eater but my partner isn't so we got a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes, but the veggie chow mein had meat in it which we didn't realize till we had already left. Mongolian beef was flavorful but not spicy (wish it had been spicier). Fried prawns were more shrimp sized. All this would be fine if the price wasn't pretty much double what a this-quality Chinese place is. ($15 for Mongolian beef?!)

Great restaurant. Very authentic. Break breakfast for 5 dollars person. Also, sell char sui and rice for a quick lunch. Good dinner selection with fresh fish. Close at 2 am.
