Marica Restaurant

A bit overrated, food was ok but not out of this world. I still enjoyed my dinner, but unfortunately I have zero tolerance for tacky and/or rude restaurant owners, who either rush you through the meal course or they try to charge you for something when they initially said it was a mistake and therefore it was on the house. I won't be coming back here, and when it comes to seafood and steak dishes there are better options out there.

Yum! Marica is top of our list. They took a change in direction to make the vibe more casual and focus on pizza (which I'm sure was delicious), but I am happy to say they have the old menu of seafood and meat dishes. This time we had mussels (delicious butter sauce and bread for sopping) and calamari (rare quality that can be lightly pan fried rather than deep fried - excellent texture and flavor). Old favorites include lamb and scallops. We didn't get the chocolate souffle this time, but it is truly incredible (insider tip: you have to order this when you order your main dish). Palomas were great as well - fresh squeezed grapefruit, of course.

I stumbled upon this cozy restaurant while visiting Oakland. The food was amazing, the service was even better. I definitely recommend this place!

Endive and Radicchio salad is excellent! The blue cheese is soft and creamy ???? Inside is a cute cafe vibe in Oakland and a cute street lined with shops and restaurants. Amaze balls pizza - so good! I just wish the pizza crust was softer and fuller, and there was a bit too much mozzarella cheese for my liking. Wonderful service ????
