Food is very good very nice ambience vibe. it’s hidden so when I looked door At first glance I had 0 expectations then when I came in it was a genuinely surprise not only is the vibe fanatics and service the food is just as good if not better
My 3rd honest 5 star in a while
Loved the food, loved the atmosphere, excellent service. Fantastic cocktails.
It was very hard to find. Nothing but industrial doors, no lighting, small wooden sign that says open. A little bit of signage goes a long way.
I recently went to Shinmai for the first time. I came in for a 9pm reservation and was told a table would be ready soon. After waiting 15+ minutes, I asked the hostess how much longer until our table was ready, to which she responded with confusion it apparently had given our table to some other party who arrived after us. She quickly sat us and neglected to explain there was a special fixed price menu for the night. We continued to sit until a server finally came to our table, though it appeared to be by mistake as she kept looking down at her tickets in confusion. We proceeded to be all but forgotten about and observed others getting excellent service from the staff. Once the food started coming out we were finally being served as normal guests albeit an hour after the time of our reservation. The food was great and helped us forget about the poor service at the beginning. Hopefully this was a fluke, but not a great first impression.
Tables are usually all reserved ahead of time but can find seating at the bar if you come early. Nice atmosphere and service, food is good - simple menu. Open kitchen which is always fun.
Nice place, finding parking is a bit hard. The menu rotates, so it's nice to try new Japanese tapas. Beer selection could improve. The menu is well priced
