Sum Yee Pastry

They have the BEST roasted pork buns I have EVER had in my life!!!! I don’t even want to eat them anywhere else!!!! I drove by a few weeks ago when a lot of Oakland was boarded up. I was so bummed to be in town and not get any pork buns. Oh well, I will be back in the fall. If you are lucky enough to be in the East Bay, you need to taste their food!!!

Our go to Dim Sum for Sunday mornings. Agree with other reviews, best to go early when food is hot and fresh. We find the staff helpful, and the food quality is always fresh and yummy!

Quick, easy, delicious. Wish the dumplings were hotter but the taste was on point!

Stopped by for a lunch snack, tried pot stickers, egg custard tarts, leeks and pork dumplings, noodles and a variety of assorted dishes including eggplant, and other samples I can’t remember their name. Photos are attached. Flavors were good, service and dinning-in experience were basic and OK. This must be the 3rd or 4th visit here. Definitely coming back.

Sum Yee carry a wide variety of morning dim sum and some. By my measure, they have more variety than others around. Service is slow and english non existent. Prices are reasonable, but freshness on some items are questionable. It's not a place that has what others don't, just popularity. Cheap fast food is what its about.
