Hainan chicken is my favorite

I l love the way they packaged the Hai nam chicken for togo. They pack the chicken into two boxes both containing roasted peanuts and ginger and green union sauce. It’s perfect for sharing or reserving for another day meal.

Overall a very solid restaurant! The service was attentive and fast!

In terms of food, the Hainan chicken dish with rice was standard. The con was that the rice and the chicken lacked the chicken oil flavor. However, The chicken was tender and the side dishes were nice complement.

I’d like to call out that the laksa soup noodles with seafood and fish noodles were spectacular. The fish noodles had a tender texture and the soup was full of flavors! Will definitely come back again for the laksa!

I think this is a newly opened restaurant and it’s very popular. The staff is friendly and food is good according to my friend. There are bones in the chicken so if you are not used to it you may need to think twice. Other than that, they cannot accommodate vegetarian request. The price is actually cheaper if you buy it in-store instead of ordering online. This is a good place for a quick lunch.

Greenhouse is getting a plethora of new Chinese restaurants and 和记 is the newest on this list. They took over the former Urban Ka-Re spot diagonal from McDonald's. Easy to spot on the right as you enter Greenhouse from Washington Ave. Parking is easy and plenty as the plaza never gets too busy.

Currently they have a grand opening special for their signature Hainan chicken lunch box - only $9.90 (originally $15.50) and comes with a small salad, the special Hainan chicken rice and a soup. The chicken is tender and delicious! Cooked perfectly and juicy - it gets my chicken loving family's approval. We also tried their chiu chow braised duck and the flavors weren't as prominent as we'd like. On their menu they serve much more than Hainan chicken. There's chiu chow appetizers and a craft your own noodle bowl option. Excited to see this place open and try more of their items!
