Daves Hot Chicken

W. As someone who’s driven 5 hours to LA for some Dave’s, I was very excited to have one within an hour from home. And it didn’t disappoint. Great service, food was perfect and just like the original locations.

Medium heat is true to its name. Start there. Substitute cheese fries in your combo and add Daves sauce for some Animal-style Fries. Maybe call them Daves Fries. Mac is creamy. Don’t forget the honey to Add to your sliders.

A bit of a wait but nothing too bad. The staff was friendly and orders were flying out. Well worth the trip.

First time at Dave's Hot Chicken. The line was kinda long since it's new, but it was worth it. I love all spicy food. I chose "hot" just to try it out. It was decently spicy. The Dave's Sauce was pretty good. Reminds me of In-n-Out "spread" but a more refined flavor.

Could do with a better interior design and table layout, but does the job sofar. Only thing I didn't like was the Line formation. Split into 2 separate lines when you get inside. Instead of 1 line that goes to the next available teller. Unfortunately I got stuck in the line with the slowest teller and my friend was able to get her food 15 minutes before I did. Her cheese fries didn't have a chance at surviving that long with me waiting. All thanks to the teller that spent too much time playing with her phone.

Anyways I'll come back when the hype dies down, see if I still like it. Gonna try the "Reaper" level next time.

Today I decided to go on a drive to try the famous Dave's Hot Chicken. After trying all the Nashville Hot Chicken places in the Bay Area I can assure you this was the best. The line was well addressed along with fast service. The Food was well placed in the trays and not like other places. Will definitely be making the drive to come more often. The only small issue was the Dave Sauce packets were hard to open.

Excellent chicken. Very busy when I went, expect a ~15 to 30 min wait during busy times.

For those who want a good first time, medium level hot sauce should be a good intro for the hot sauce scales, leaves just a slight burn 🔥.

Chicken was crunchy, fries were delicious. A little pricier than other restaurants, but the quality and flavor is still great for the price. Got the #2, two sliders with Pickles + fries, but ended up getting another order of fries.

10/10 would eat again.

Bonus: restaurant is halal certified too!

There was a lot of hype going into this one and I was excited because it's a halal place that's not the generic type of cuisine. This is grand opening weekend so the lines did stretch out and it was about an hr wait just to get in the store. But that's grand opening weekend of anything popular.

I ordered the Dave's #2 which consists of 2 sliders and fries and also had the Mac and cheese.

The sliders aren't sliders that you are thinking of . They are full size burgers. The chicken was done really well as I did have mild ( not a big fan of spicy ). The chicken was cooked and seasoned well. I was surprised that it went really good with the Cole slaw and pickles which I haven't tried on a burger before. The fries were okay, it's up to standards but nothing too mind blowing

The Mac and cheese was decent but it was average . As a big Mac and cheese fan I was expecting really good Mac and cheese but it did fall short . It marks all the right boxes like creamy, tender and the right amount of cheese but it just felt like you can get it anywhere else.

I did however try a piece of the reaper chicken and BOY let me tell you, fans of hot spicy food will love it . It's the right amount spice that does right by it's name. I actually thought despite my cries of agony it was not only spicy but also seasoned and tasted very good. If you aren't good with spice like me , stay away from it because an ambulance ride costs $3k in the U.S
