Desolation Hotel Hope Valley

Didn't stay there. Just had lunch. Fondue was great, as was the burger. Topped it off with a great berry cobbler!⁰

Always a cozy and hilarious experience! If you want something fancy, stay in South Lake. If you want friendly staff, cozy cabins and delicious food, look no farther!

Just spent an amazingly relaxing weekend here in the off-grid yurt. Very cold nights (was 1 degree Sunday morning), but very warm and toasty inside the yurt with the propane stove. The staff are all AMAZING and the meals are phenomenal. The team was a bit shorthanded due to sickness, and handled everything with grace and incredible hospitality. We were treated like family - thank you all so much for such an incredible weekend. We will be back.

The staff was very warm and accommodating. Cottages were gorgeous. Their GM Brandon was on the floor, taking care of things personally with his team. We had a great stay. The only drawback was a sense of chaos at times. They may have been short staffed, but getting things done took some time. Like they didn't know about our brunch reservation from the day before. We also forgot a champagne bottle in the fridge and would have left it as a gift to the staff had they just acknowledged it, but they did not even call or email upon multiple reachouts. All in all, decent experience. Probably only return if they respond to our calls for help.
