Really fun place, cool atmosphere. Only downside was having to order food at the bar, can take a bit if a line forms. But man when the food arrives do they deliver. I had the san francisco foggy noodles and they were amazing. We happened to go on trivia night (not planned by us) and we ended up having a great time.
Dined in for lunch. Had the foggy noodles it was so delicious. Added some jerk chicken, which is also very good.
The waitress was attentive, happy and helpful. Happy hour was great with $5 pints and well drinks. Happy hour also had some delicious apps including chimichurri shoestring fries, jerk chicken, chicken sandwich, and more. There's a few TVs for sports including a projection screen that had NBA playoffs on. The other TV had a re-run of the Indy 500 but they were happy to change it to the NBA game. Cocktails and beer selection we're plenty including IPAs, hazy, pale ale, stout and more.
Discovery is an instant hit in Chico. Owned by Chico locals, the ambiance is exactly what I'm looking for while dining out with family or stopping by for a drink at the bar. The restaurant, bar, and restrooms were all clean and the whole place felt comfortable and welcoming. The staff is friendly and the food was prepared quickly and was DELICIOUS. My chicken sandwich was excellent and I don't know what they fermented the coleslaw cabbage/carrots in but it was divine. Coleslaw can be such an afterthought at most restaurants but this was most definitely not the case. It was also served with a generous portion of string fries cooked excellently and not too greasy.
Note: the picture of the chicken sandwich was after I'd helped myself to a handful (or two) of fries.
Mississippi Mud Cake was divine. My kids devoured the buttery noodles and grilled cheese sandwich. The whole family was VERY happy and we'll definitely be going back. I wish I'd taken more photos before my family had devoured everything.
