Great food, old school cafe. Everything is cooked in front of the bar counter (there are also a small number of tables). Friendly staff. Parking and tables are both scarce at peak times. The Philly Cheesesteak Omelet (also available as a burrito on a HUGE tortilla) is fantastic. The Home Fries are wonderfully seasoned baby red potatoes that have been diced.
This place is a gem! Beautiful job making the pancakes look like Minnie Mouse for the kiddo.
Great place to have breakfast!
Cute establishment on Polk street. The coffee is always good, but overpriced. The line can also be long so be warned! One other gripe- the noise, sometimes it's really loud inside. Despite all this, I do enjoy treating myself to a cup of coffee at this place from time to time...
Moved to Alamo six months ago, found this place and I’ve been back at least twice a week for breakfast without fail. The food is great, very fresh and made to order - prices are super affordable. The cozy atmosphere is a throwback, employees and customers are all friendly and engaging.
Kim, the owner, has done a great job of honoring her family’s business. Been in the family for quite some time. If you’re in the area - please give them a try as you won’t be disappointed.
What do I get? I’ll tell you...
Breakfast Order - two eggs, bacon, sourdough, potatoes...the bacon is thick and ridiculously good
Lunch - just had a cheeseburger today, it was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had in a very long time. Fries were on point as well
Thanks for the read - hopefully see you in there soon!
