Chef Chao Restaurant

One of the first and original Chinese restaurants in Lamorinda. The fact that it's still around with a busting lunch hour is nothing sort of a miracle. I was introduced to it by a Caucasi as n friend who was born in Orinda 60+ years ago.... Even though I'm Chinese myself. The lunch menu includes soup, a small pot sticker or egg roll, selection and rice. The customers are mostly devoted aged locals.

Been a patron of Chef Chao ever since I was a child. Almost four decades later, it is still my favorite Chinese restaurant even after moving out of state. Now, it is a must visit stop every return to our old stomping grounds. Great service (Thank you Kenny and Johnny as always) and excellent food.

Great food. I received a dirty glass of water with lipstick still on the glass rim. Fountain drinks taste of chlorine. But customer service was ok. There was parking.
