A genuine piece of California history, hidden in plain sight just off the freeway in the East Bay.

The food and service are first rate, the wine selection is well-curated, and the bartenders are very competent at mixing up everything from a lemon drop to an Irish Coffee.

It's a lovely place for a date, and an unexpected venue for any other special occasion.

We had a nice time in the bar,and the cocktail waitress recommended a great wine.Our table was ready when we were, and our waitress was terrific. We all had something different and all the food tasted excellent and cooked perfectly! Our friend from Ireland had a desert he has never even heard of very impressed we closed it down and left completely satisfied thumbs up

Lovely space in the bar area. Service was sketchy, would not ever order the Irish coffee, arrived dead on arrival, cold with non existent whipped cream, so disappointing. Vodka martini was okay. Spinach-artichoke dip overcooked, cheese too crispy. Ambience was nice, piano music soothing.

The restaurant is in an historic hotel. Bartenders wear a vest. Service was excellent. I had the filet, incredibly tender. Can't say enough about the food. Convenient to the center of Richmond.

I love this restaurant and bar. I usually go on Saturday evening for a burger at the bar. It's one of the best burgers around: good beef, cooked perfectly, with good quality produce to put on top. Ian, the bartender, makes my evening complete. In addition, it's a safe place for a woman to go alone.
