Sitting here at home now eating. I got the catfish, greens, mac n cheese, cornbread and tea. The cornbread wasn't to my liking (reason for 4 ????) but everything else is smackin... Just found yourself a new customer.

Great fresh homemade Soul Food. The owner / chef is a delightful man. The gumbo was SPECTACULAR, fried chicken very good, fried fish very good (after I added tartar sauce from home), Mac n cheese and greens were excellent. Same for yams as long as you like them sweetened. Beans and rice were solid/fresh. I didn't think the corn bread was my favorite style but definitely homemade. Definitely the best Soul Food spot in Richmond in the 20 years I've been here. Very healthy and fresh food from a local chef. New Soul Cafe is the REAL deal!

YUM! We tried just about everything and it was all so, so good. Fried chicken, catfish, yams, red beans and rice, mac and cheese, cornbread, lemonade, sweet tea... All great! The owner and his daughter are genuinely friendly and took great care of us. We took our food to go, and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Great food fun family atmosphere. Everything tasted so good. The fried chicken is the best in the bay. Greens were fresh and the hot water cornbread is amazing. Don't forget to try the scrumptious gumbo.
