On a rainy, cold day I walked into Aky’s and found hot ginger tea, a fat strawberry thumbprint cookie (with almonds!) and an owner who calls everyone “sweetheart” and says “I’m so happy you’re here!” and means it.

Drinking my tea, I watched photographer Stephen Bull hang his artwork featuring coastal birdlife - some with fish in beak, or young beneath their wings. Perfect for a portside locale.

The chicken with feta sandwich was the best sandwich I've had in a long time!

Basically everything is homemade, run by a Greek Persian couple the food is well spiced but not overly so, nor hot. Specials are usually excellent, and Aky is a wonderful human being. Good good, only complaint is she closes around 230pm. Otherwise highly recommend it.

Cute spot with friendly staff and great food. They are always serving different specials. Great place for breakfast, lunch, or just to hang out for coffee or tea.

Locally run cafe with good food & a positive attitude. ???? there is often locals playing games at a big table. Good coffee, breakfast & lunches. Especially enjoy the Greek Salad topped with chicken breast. Because they also have a few outside tables we can meet up for lunch with a friend who walks her dog over. Brother-in-law can find vegetarian items easily. Only downside is they aren’t open on the weekends.
