Great place to eat. Stopped here when I was in town for work, and really enjoyed the food and service. The servers were attentive but not overly attentive, the French toast was delicious.
Met with my Breakfast club sisters for breakfast here today. Our wait for seating for four was short and our server was polite and courteous. I had the Portuguese omelette with Hashbrowns and a biscuit. The food was good, my only complaint would be that the hashbrowns tasted a bit generic. We've eaten here before. Overall, it's a nice place to enjoy a meal with family and friends.
Damn good diner food. Totally unexpected. Driven by this place more times than I can count. But finally stopped in, like so many others, while getting work done at one of the nearby auto joints. Great breakfast, down home service, warmth all around. Would have gone 5 stars, but prices aren't really diner - more pricey bistro. Not totally outside the East Bay usual range, but definitely at the higher end.
My family and I go to Buttercup pretty regularly because of the great food and customer service. Gabby is usually our waitress, but all of the staff are great. Gabby has a bright smile and always remembers our orders. The food is fresh and consistently amazing. My family's favorites are the pot pies, nachos, and any of the breakfasts. I've been to Buttercup at least a dozen times and never had a meal that wasn't satisfying.
Tonight, after taking the kids to see the Nutcracker, I wanted an elegant dinner. The kids wanted grilled cheese and chicken fingers. My spouse wanted a burger. We all got what we wanted at Buttercup! They really have something for everyone. The breakfasts are amazing too, and they have the best corned beef hash (house made) I've ever had. Including mine. And the desserts. The only bad thing about the desserts is that the meal portion sizes usually don't leave room for the awesome, large desserts. So sometimes we make a special trip just dessert. Also, we've been eating there for 12 years, and many of the staff have been there the whole time - that says a lot about how the place is run. GO!
