Tried Nashville Hot bird & Hot fries with "Make it Blazin".
It was a take out order. Exceptionally packed and decent sized proportions.
Tasted decent at best but the flavor is mild. I would not suggest for people who wanted great deal of spice. However, the chicken was tender and juicy.
“The starbird” was the sandwich that I tried yesterday. Besides the sandwich being soaking wet from the coleslaw it was probably the most unpleasant sandwich I’ve had in years. As I said not only did the coleslaw make the sandwich wet, the coleslaw was not particularly tasteful and the chicken had the oddest taste of any chicken that I can remember eating. Starboard advertising that it is the best crispy chicken sandwich in the bay area is false advertising in my opinion.
We had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, Green Goddess chicken salad, fries and a drink. I asked to make the sandwich extra spicy, and, they changed an extra dollar for that upgrade, which seemed out of place for such a basic request. Worse of all, the sandwich was not spicy, so my guess is, they didn't add any extra sauce to the sandwich, that I got up charged for. Now for the good part, the salad was very good, and l would recommend that for sure. The gentleman behind the counter was helpful too. However, if I decide to get a spicy chicken sandwich in the future, I most likely will go the the other restaurant near by instead.
The employees and management here are very good - they seem efficient and customer-service oriented. My food is almost always ready quickly and the contents of my orders have typically been correct (one exception which they quickly corrected). It is a real treat to be able to have gluten-free fried chicken! I’m allergic and struggle to find tasty options. Not everything on their menu is gluten-free but there are enough choices to keep me happy for quite awhile.
