The food is fresh and delicious. Very family oriented. It's like going to Grandma's for Sunday dinner! The staff is friendly and efficient. Very large portions so go hungry!
A very quality diner on your way to South Lake Tahoe. Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, standard dinner fare. Would recommend over a chain diner. Also a historical landmark with some neat history on the Pony Express Trail.
The food was good, serving sizes were truck stop portions. None of us finished our plates. Subsequently their prices are a bit high. If the prices matched the food quality & whole in the wall vibe I'd go back. But I can pay less for better so I wouldn't because I'm admittedly frugal. I will say I think the steak Philly type sandwich my husband had tasted off to me. He wound up very nauseous. Leading me to think it was on the older side and on the verge of spoiling.
Incredible history and delicious food!
Pony express and wagon trains all stopped here, you should too.
Thousands of immigrants walked thousands of miles to get to California and they all stopped here.
At one time there was a corral here that could hold 500 animals.
Be sure to check out the Historic Marker out front.
A group of us stopped off here enroute to Tahoe. We'd been stuck in traffic for hours. The staff here were super helpful. They seated 6 of us plus dog with no hassle. Great food and nice Mom and Pop atmosphere.
