How did I not know about this place sooner. Great food and drinks and all around great old school chill vibes. The charcuterie board was to die for and so was shrimp cocktails. Our waiter made me a phenomenal drink based off of what I described I wanted.
Good meal, steaks were cooked to order, but kinda ugly just staring back at us, baked on the plate. (What? Sprigs of parsley just too costly?) Potatoes au gratin were the highlight of the meal. They seated us right next to other diners when there was ample room for some elbow space. It felt like a Brian Regan skit.
Service was just a tad oriented towards pushing more food and wine onto our bill... subtle, but ever-present. There are many places to get good steaks.. this is one, but we will try others before returning here.
Setting is good. Waiters are friendly. I can give them 4. But the food is really so so. It's a Saturday night, they don't even have bread. With around $50 for each person, not including the drinks, we don't feel we are filled. To that end, I can only give a 2. So, the average rating would be 3.
I will say the place is a classic steaks house environment. The owner nailed that. My steak was prepared as ordered and was good, but nothing to brag about. I will try a different cut next time. No complaints generally on the food preparation or execution. The food took a long time. We left feeling like we ate a good meal. That being said the quality all around didn't warrant the high A La Carte pricing. Everything is a good 20 percent markup. We will try again.
