Excellent food and service. This is my favorite place in Fresno for sushi and the atmosphere is great. I am sad to see the 1 star reviews for this place on account they don't accommodate children very well. Tamari is a bar, it's time to be an adult and find a babysitter. One of the reasons I find this place so inviting is the mature atmosphere. It is calm and the perfect place to catch up with friends and family while having a pleasant evening.

We typically love this restaurant! Sushi is usually on point with fresh fish and great rolls, very creative! Their grill is AMAZING and kicks out some really tasty food. Huge selection of whiskey too. The atmosphere is cool and hip with usually a busy dining room. This visit; they were a little off, but we still had a great time!

If you read all the negative reviews, first off it’s a whiskey bar! Why would you bring kids to a whiskey bar or any bar?! It’s not a brewery! But a bar! I understand they serve food too but common sense would tell some folks if it has “BAR” in the name hmm might not be okay for children. Anyways. Always good food & great whiskey, scotch & drinks. We’ll continue to visit. Thanks Ed & Tom for making sure the food is in fact gluten free & great experience every time we stop in!

The food was pretty good, and the whiskey selection is really great, but I just wasn't floored.

I feel like spending $10 on a beer should get me a whole beer and spending $110 on dinner for two shouldn't leave me hungry.

I may give it another try, because the food was good and the service was great, it just wasn't a perfect first try.
