J's Place Waffle House & Southern Style Cooking

This place is delicious! If you're watching your weight, don't come here because you'll probably have a cheat meal. During my first visit, the waitress gave me a free slice of peach cobbler which satisfied my sweet tooth. I ordered the chicken and waffles and was surprised by the size of the chicken wing, it was huge and I needed a to go box. I was a full, satisfied customer. I will definitely be coming back.

EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE FRONT DOOR WITH A WARM WELCOMING SMILE AS WE ENTERED INTO THE RESTAURANT, ALL INTO THE VARIOUS FOOD'S TO CHOOSE FROM, TO THE WAITRESS AND OTHER STAFF ASSOCIATE'S SAYING, AND SINGING HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JR ALONG WITH SOME ICE CREAM AND PEACH COBBLER FOR HIS BIRTHDAY ON TODAY. WE BOTH LOVED WHAT WE ATE ESPECIALLY THEM GREEN'S WITH CORNBREAD. EVERYTHING OVERALL WAS ABOVE AND BEYOND #EXCEPTIONAL WE WILL BE BACK SOON.....

Great food! Amazing staff! Here at J's Place, they always make you feel like your family and at home. I ordered the chicken and dressing filler plate with fried cabbage and mac and cheese. It was delicious. I also ordered a sugar-free peach cobbler dessert which was very good and it had no aftertaste. If your resident here or you're just passing through, this is a great place to eat at.

Love J's place. My husband is hard of hearing, when we got there they were busy. They were going to seat us in the main dining room, I asked if we could be seated in the 2nd dining room because of his hearing, even though the dining room wasn't opened, they allowed us to sit there so he could hear me. The food Is the best. The staff wonderful. Don't forget dessert.

My family was driving to Yosemite national park. We had been in the car a while and decided to stop in Bakersfield. From other reviews on trip advisor this place sounded great. We walked in and we knew it was gonna be great. I got the catfish, which was some of the best catfish I've ever had. The rest of my family got the fried chicken, which they said was good and the tacos. Which I know they don't sound like they go together, but they were great. I also got Mac n cheese which was delicious. For dessert I would recommend the banana pudding, freshly made its the best. They also have good southern sweet tea. If your in the area make sure to stop at this place.
