Best BBQ in town. Both this location and the H Street location are fun and unique. The staff are pleasant and engaged. Hope you enjoy as much as we have!
The service was good and the servings were pretty decent. I had the pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries and a tater tot side everything was really good and I liked how I could choose the different bbq sauces. Really good thanks guys.
Great place! The food is on point and the staff are great. My husband and I went for the first time yesterday and liked it so much we came back today.
We split the two meat plate and are stuffed. We got the deep pit beef and the brisket today (pictured) and both were cooked perfectly. We got the tri-tip the day before and it was perfect as well. All was fork tender with a good balance of seasoning (not too salty as I've seen at other places) and smoky flavors. Great smoke ring. We got the mac and cheese both times and it's worth going just for that. Smooth and creamy with a good flavor. The macaroni is cooked perfectly (not over cooked like you see at a lot of places). We also had the tots with garlic ("make it stank" on the menu) which were also good. We were lucky enough to be there when they were giving out free samples of their smoked turkey. It was smoky, juicy and so good. Though it doesn't really need it because it's seasoned so well they have several of their own BBQ sauces. We tried all four the first day (original, spicy, mustard, and raspberry chipotle) and those were delicious as well. My husband loved the combo of the spicy BBQ and the mustard while I really enjoyed the raspberry chipotle which had the perfect balance of smoky, sweet (but not too sweet), and spicy.
The staff is so friendly and helpful. Despite being extremely busy (I swear they never stopped moving the whole time we were there) they were able to keep things moving and get people through quickly while brewing very nice and answering questions people had about the menu. They got the food out quickly (nothing stayed in that window long) and constantly made the rounds checking on people despite it not being an order at your table establishment. They chef also check on people as well when he had and breaks in the rush. They also made great recommendations for things to try.
They are busy at the location and don't have a lot of indoor seating but have a big covered/walled patio with lots of tables. It's an order at the counter and they bring your food to the table place but the staff checks on you a lot. Lots of drink options between their area and the gas station. The lunch crowd hits it hard but they still manage to get food out quickly.
So good, I know I'm going to have to keep myself from going too much.
Best BBQ IN BAKO.
This is the 2nd location and definitely a crowd pleaser.
The ribs are fall off the bone tender. The coleslaw so bomb and crunchy
The owners very nice and friendly folks.
Now all they need is dessert for the homerun. I'm already feeding them ideas lol peach cobbler, banana pudding etc.
My bottom line...will I go back? Most definitely and I hope you're not in line in front of me.
