West Coast Sourdough - Bakersfield

Very nice, beautiful decor new sandwich shop. Ordered three sandwiches to go and a cup of clam chowder.
Two of the sandwiches were turkey, both kids said they were very good. My son said the soup was pretty good.
I ordered the pastrami with pepper Jack cheese, it was pretty good.
I was disappointed that you are paying top dollar for these sandwiches and such a small amount of meat. The sandwiches would of been excellent with more meat. I realize you can buy extra meat, but, these are already expensive sandwiches. Your pre-measured amount of meat is too skimpy.
I also bought a cookie 🍪, it was excellent. The employees I talked to were all nice and helpful.

Second visit, ordering the same item. Sandwich looked nothing like what’s displayed on the menu. Where’s the meat? Maybe 3
Oz at best. 😠 The toasted sourdough was good.

What a hidden gem! Ordered the Italian sandwich and have to admit that the bread definitely stood out. It had a crisp and a chew that was surprisingly satisfying. Cant wait to try other items soon.

This place just opened and it's wonderful. It's part of a chain offshoot of Michael's Sourdough - I used to eat there in San Rafael and in Robert Park. The sourdough bread is out of this world, always fresh and warm. It's good quality ingredients. They have the same chips and drinks you get anyplace else, but what you want is that bread. So good.
