This was the old Neptune's restaurant. Garlic and Chives # 2 has some classics like chicken pho, vermicelli bowls, egg rolls, spring rolls, etc, but they also have their own take on garlic noodles, roasted crab, and some other really tasty items on the menu. The prices seems fair for the portions that you receive. The service at the restaurant was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is well-lit, energetic, and good for small or large groups of people.
Although the food was good, I did not give the restaurant 5-stars as I think that should be reserved for a place where you feel like you have to go right back the next day to try everything else there. I definitely will be back and recommend you try this place if you're into Vietnamese cuisine.
A modernized take on Vietnamese cuisine with heavy emphasis on literally Garlic and Chives. Excellent flavor profiles on the 10+ dishes we ordered, everything cooked and seasoned perfectly. Service from table staff to bartender and greeters were exceptional. They even have hard liquor, beer, wine and cocktails. Overall, our party was very impressed that a Vietnamese restaurant pulled everything off this well. Only complaint was the quantity to value expectation on one dish: lamb chops ($13 for two rather thin pieces of rack of lamb).
Fresh, grilled things grilled to luscious savory perfection, well seasoned (but not a bit over), delightfully presented. Excellent service. Open now for lunch! Don’t miss it!!
Garlic & Chives #2, located between Fresh Catch supermarket and the old Babies R Us, offers a variety of Vietnamese dishes including, of course, vermicelli and pho. On this initial visit we skipped those items.
Instead we flipped to their clay pot section - crispy garlic rice served with fish and/or pork in a fancified soy sauce. Specifically we tried pork belly, salmon, and catfish pots with pickled salad on the side. All three parts go really well with each other.
For appetizers, we tried corn with cheese as well as fried tofu and garlic noodles. Sweet corn topped with melted, slightly smoky mozzarella cheese is a real winner. Fried tofu was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. Garlic noodles were tasty also.
I'm really looking forward to returning to try everything else on their menu.
Been here 3 times. First time I ordered Bum bo Hue Oxtail. Absolutely the best Bum bo Hue that I have ever had. 3 people came up to me, introduced themselves and asked how I enjoyed my food. Brian was very nice, then Ashley (her family owns the place) and then Kristin (she is Ashley's mom). I would like to come here more often but the restaurant has become so popular that there is often a crowd waiting to get in.
