Having made my first trip to Greece this past summer, I was intrigued when I came across Estiatorio Louká when looking for a dinner spot. I would rate my experience at 4.25 stars and recommend a visit if you are looking for fresh and authentic Greek cuisine.
Food - 4.5 stars. Unfortunately I was by myself so couldn’t sample more of the menu. However, the dishes I had - Greek salad, marinated anchovies, and the octopus - were solid. The Greek salad won as the best dish with extremely fresh produce, outstanding olive oil, and good feta. I can recommend the other two dishes but not as “must-haves”. The moussaka was recommended and I would have liked to have tried it but there was only so much that could be consumed.
Service - 4.5 stars. As I was dining alone, I sat at the bar. The first bartender serving me, James (?) I believe, provided top notch service and friendliness. We had a good discussion about Austin where he used to live and where I currently reside. When James (?) went on break, two other gentleman took his place. Perfectly fine service but outshined by James (?).
Ambiance - 4 stars. It was a quiet Tuesday evening and the bartenders assured me that there was more energy Thursday - Saturday. Nothing really to remark on here.
Reservations here after 5pm are a must, the tables are rather close together but after a few minutes my partner and I were engaged in wonderful conversations with both parties to our left and right.
The menu is not overwhelming, the octopus is grilled to perfection, on a bed of pickled onions and carrots to help the savory flavor dance around your pallet.
The best Greek food I’ve had since NYC. Thanks for coming to Beverly Hills Estiatorio Louka.
I could write an 8 page essay on my experience at this place. Everything was top notch. The setting is beautiful and the service was impeccable. The food though...Unbelievable. We had a big group, so we got to pretty much try everything. I still dream about the Greek salad (Horiatiki). It was the best salad I've ever had. The Feta is out of this world. The Tirokafteri is lights out. Spanakopita & Dolmades - best I've ever had. The lamb chops were insane (Paithaikia). You gotta finish with the Loukoumades. They are Greek donuts sent from heaven. Literally everything was out of this world. Highly highly recommend. Can't wait to go back. Also, great cocktails and Greek wine/beer selection. This will be labeled the best Greek spot in LA by the end of the year. And the pricing for the location is unbeatable.
Great food and good service. It’s all correct, but just in a couple months they’re already overbooked. Would’ve been a great neighborhood restaurant except that it’s already impossible to get a table there. It’s so unfortunate because there are so few spots in this neighborhood that have authentic and good food, chill ambience with friendly service. Lost another one to tourism.
