Great place to have some flavorful chili burgers, chili dogs. They also have tamales with chili, which is delicious. Overall, highly recommended if you're in Southern CA

This is NOT like the "Original Tommy's Hamburgers" but it will have to do. The chili does not taste the same as the chili at the original location on Beverly and Rampart in L.A. Also, regarding "this" El Monte location, I have noticed that the beef patties are not always fresh. You can sometimes taste the "old meat taste" and other times it tastes great. I don't know, maybe they should "always" use fresh beef patties!

It had been about 10 years or more since I visited Tommy's. I must say that the drive thru makes the visit so much easier. I, personally, was not super impressed with the burger. I remember they were better. The reason I visited was because my 10 year old said he wanted to try it. I expected it to wreck havoc on my stomach but it actually went down pretty well. My son said he liked it, and my parents loved it. I feel like I am getting sick and that is why I was unable to taste the deliciousness they were tasting. I am going to have to go again after my cold leaves me.

Bought 2 of their Chili at $7 a container, took it home cooked up some ground turkey meat, seasoned with chopped fresh white onion, black pepper, onion powder and a little bit of granulated garlic...added the 2 containers of chili to it... and 1 cup of water and then salted to taste... Added some red pepper flake to it stir It up, let cook med low heat for 20 min...poured it over some spaghetti noodles...
