Barans 2239

This wasy first time at Barans and I was encouraged by the reviews but wasn't totally sure what to expect. The menu seems to work best when sharing plates, and it let's you try quite a few different flavors during the dinner.

Our waiter was really great at making recommendations and we ordered everything he suggested. Minor substitutions or exemptions are allowed and literally everything we tried was great, so I can only assume everything is good.

Scallops were cooked perfectly and were delicious
We also had the crab and gnocchi which were light and fluffy and in a delicious sauce
And our favorite was the ceviche. Absolutely a perfect bite of flavors and textures.

Oh yeah, we also had the churros and chocolate for dessert and what we were given was such a wonderful take on the dessert. Not too heavy at the end, but amazingly satisfying for the little sweet tooth.

Top notch, highest quality food I’ve been served since living in Los Angeles (Jan 2018 to date of this post). Indian egg is a fav. The octopus is superb as well but wasn’t on the menu last time I was there. Nice staff. Classy joint.

This is one of those places that when you order, you're not quite sure what the food is going to be like, but then the food comes it's just ridiculously good. I tasted the Red Curry brussel sprouts, the Indian Egg, and the focaccia. All were absolutely delicious. The Bucatini was also very good.

Excellent food, and as expensive as you'd expect it to be.

The staff/owners at Barans 2239 really make this place special. I had a going away dinner with a family member here and they made the whole meal feel as if it was personally catered to us. They were beyond helpful and friendly and to top it off the food was to die for! Thanks for a great evening!

Ordered three plates: shaved brussel sprout salad, gnocchi and bistro steak. Bistro steak was particularly good, recommended. The coffee pudding for desert is also a good order.
