While in town recently I was referred to this place for dinner. I found the service very friendly and knowledgable, and the food to be very good. I had the cast iron chicken and collards. I would visit again.
This is a fantastic local dining experience -- if you can see beyond the trendy hipster pretentiousness. Architecture is often an afterthought when it comes to restaurants, but here it is celebrated with a mid-century-esque design -- literally post and beam structure -- that nonetheless manages to create a cozy-yet-happening atmosphere. The food is inventive and varied, blending a comfort food base with a modern (hipster?) flair. The craft pizzas are always an excellent choice for dinner. Sunday brunch has a bourbon French toast to die for. The drinks are an appropriate intersection of classic and modern. The covered patio is lovely as well. Reservations highly recommended. Also, the restaurant's little surface parking lot is always full, even when P&B is closed, so save time and just park in the adjacent two-story structure.
I've tried Post & Beam probably twice a year in the last 5 years I've lived in this area and the menu. doesn't. change.
It needs to. And they should add specials.
We've ended up just coming for a later evening glass of wine lately and ordered the flatbread with sausage? I ordered it the first time and didn't enjoy it but because it had been a while since my visit the last time I made the same mistake. It's simply not good.
The service here is amazing, though. And when I'm into going to brunch (which is rare due to a specific eating schedule I need to keep for health reasons) I enjoy their offerings.
Visited for dinner on a Sunday night with family. The menu was interesting enough but I could tell this wasn't a place for anyone with kids. We were told on sundays they have a condensed menu, but they tried their best to accommodate us. The food is great but pricey, a good date night place or meeting spot with friends. Definitely would try again for a date night. The fried chicken w/shrimp grits I ordered was good.
