Delicious banh mi sandwich with good mix of textures and flavors: warm crisp bread, juicy & flavorful pork belly, along with cool veggies. I liked the hit of fruity spice with the chili pepper, which provided just enough kick. Worth going off my no carbs diet for!

Chicken Katsu Banh Mi / French roll with pickled carrot and daikon, chicken cutlet, cucumber, jalapeno, scallion, mint, cilantro, mayo and chicken liver pate - 5 🌟!
    Garlic cilantro French fries - 5 🌟!

Banh Oui is in a trendy little food corner closeby to the tourist area of Hollywood. It is a little shop with limited seating. I was there right before a lunch rush and I lucked out with a nice seat.

I have never seen a chicken katsu x banh mi combo before so I was immediately intrigued. Katsu is Japanese and they combined it with how a banh mi is normally assembled and the mashup is brilliant and tasty!

They even went a step farther and added a layer of chicken liver pate since a pate is often on a regular banh mi.

The fries were very addictive, very hot, and excellent. Overall a great experience.

But be careful of the parking. Since they are next to a tourist area during peak hours it's all valet.

    Vietnamese inspired & delicious!

The Oui Burger is delicious and has a very Vietnamese flavor complex with a bit of French flavor profiles as well.

The Pork Belly Banh Mi is filled with juicy caramelized pork and vinegary veggies. It’s much more juicy and vinegary than traditional banh mi, but still delicious.

The Vietnamese coffee is ok but does not taste similar to traditional Vietnamese coffee. I would skip this item if I returned.

Overall it’s a cute place with some delicious entres.

The pork belly is amazing it literally melts in your mouth. I wasn’t a fan of the carrots and other veggies on my bahn mi, the flavors honestly didn’t connect with me. I did really enjoy one of their fry options, which is tossed in a few spices—it makes for a very interesting flavor experience. The service was exceptional as well and I’d definitely stop here again for lunch.
