Thank the diety of your choice that Kitsune has arrived in Silver Lake!
Let's start with the most important ... onigori! Physically it's just a rice ball with filling wrapped in seaweed. But this simply explanation belies the simple joy of eating one. Choose salmon, tuna, chicken or veggie for your filling. Whichever you pick, you won't regret it.
There's also various broths to choose from. Bone marrow and mushroom are on the menu. Highly recommend the bone broth.
One other little treat you shouldn't miss is a can of Calpis, a Japanese cream soda. It's one of the things I miss back in LA after visits to Japan. Now, the joy can be experienced regularly.
Right now hours line up with the Silver Lake Farmers market, so it has to be Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings. Even with these limited hours, this is a gem I'm excited to have in the neighborhood.
