I am a loyal customer of Lilian’s and I consider it my kitchen outside of home. I go there for my favorite dishes but I strongly suggest for them to keep it like home cooked not commercialized. The place needs improvement with the quality of meat that they are serving. Extremely fatty adobo, dinuguan, Bicol express and some other dishes.
First time eating here, came because of rating. Nice servers, clean store, food had good flavor however it was Not Hot, I was there at 6:15 PM & I think they had turned off the food warmers in preparation for closing, they were mopping & pulling food from the buffet 5 min after I got my food. There was no Chicken Adobo, Lumpia or Pancit. $16 for a scope of rice and 2 cups of pork belly with brown sauce. Not sure I'd go back a 2nd time.
Good tasty filipino food! Tastes like home cooked! Their garlic peanuts are bomb! Also, it may not be a big deal for others but I like how this place have PAPER- containers for their ala carte dishes/food. I dont like eating hot food with melted styrofoam. This is also another reason why Lilian’s is my go-to
The best filipino food in town. If you want to taste the real home cooked meals outside your home, this is the place to be. Do not forget to order their Halo Halo. :)
I’m a little bit biased because Tita Lilian is a friend of my Dad’s, but honestly her food is so good! Tita Lilian is the sweetest, and her love and care shows through her food. You can tell that she cooks because she loves it!
If you’re stopping by, I would highly recommend picking up any of the ulam (hot food) - my personal favourite is the dinuguan and the pork liempo.
And you can’t leave without trying any of the hopia or halo halo. I found the hopia pastry to be just perfect in thickness and flakiness, while the filling was the perfect sweetness.
The halo-halo brought me back to the Philippines! A plethora of toppings, and it was easy to mix.
Tita Lilian is so genuine and she really cares, and I think that’s what makes the difference. Next time I’m in LA, I’m definitely going back!
