We stopped in for Happy Hour and ended up staying for hours, drinking wine and catching up! Their tartare selection is fantastic, the oysters and ceviche to die for... lots to chose from for both seafood and meat lovers and outstanding quality. We were also lucky to get the manager, Anna, for recommendations. She is truly knowledgeable about the menu and clearly passionate about the service industry and the hotel itself. She took the time to understand what we were in the mood for and made sure that we had a memorable experience. High level service and high level quality food is a combo rarely found nowadays in LA. Highly recommended!

Great ambiance. Beautiful outdoor terrace. Feels very secluded, away from the cars and traffic. It’s a hidden gem!

I was beyond bummed when I heard the Bazaar by Jose Andres was closing at the SLS hotel in Beverly Hills. For over a decade it fed the hungry stomachs and curious minds of many a food adventurer looking for something interesting and exciting in the Los Angeles food scene. It was a sad week for all of us Angeleno food-lovers as it seemed like yet another fantastic restaurant had fallen victim to this pandemic that has rocked the restaurant economy to it's core.

Then, like some weird ray of butter-soaked and perfectly-seasoned sunshine (I know that makes no sense), I heard the news that the same innovative chef team and top-notch service staff were all remaining to forge a brand new restaurant in it's wake. I was beyond excited to see what this interesting opportunity would mean for the venue and what it means for the passionate people behind it that decided to not just roll with punches, but roll up their sleeves and fight back.

I've been to the Terrace Dining Room twice now. Once for dinner the second night it was open (I told you I was excited) and just recently for their new brunch service and both times the food was incredible, their service was excellent, and the experience was seamless.

Sidenote: Other restaurants could learn a thing or fifty on how to properly take care of their guests and staff during this new Covid-19 era, by paying this place a visit. Everyone was seated with social distancing in mind, the staff wore masks and face shields, and the menus seemed to be printed fresh, not barely sanitized and reused from the previous guest. All good things in my book.

The atmosphere of the dinner service was wonderful and one of the best outdoor dining experiences I've had recently. The drinks were all top-tier and expertly hand-crafted with care and the food...oh the food. Whereas the old Bazaar dishes were incredible, I always felt my focus was taken by the shock of HOW to eat a dish and how experimental it was (looking at you Bazaar caprese salad), whereas now this new restaurant focuses you on the fundamentals of each dish and what makes it come alive at it's core to burst with flavor. Now instead of wondering HOW, I was thinking HOW MUCH of each plate I could fit in my mouth in one bite.

Pro tip: if you leave dinner without ordering their Octopus, that they sous vide for 24 hrs and then deep fry to a subtle crispness, we can't be friends.

And brunch...O brunch, my brunch. There's a special place in my heart for day drinking with good company, over mouth-watering food, and an endless waterfall of mimosas, of which the oranges they squeeze fresh here, I saw. Now you really can't go wrong ordering anything on the brunch menu as it's all incredible (seriously I tasted almost everything thanks to a very hungry brunch partner) but there's one dish in particular that got me. I was hesitant to order the avocado toast in fear I would become yet another millennial over-paying for a dish I could have made, half-awake and hungover, for less than $2, but...BUT! WOW! I would eat their avocado toast every single day for the rest of my life. It's hard to put into words because it's exactly what it's supposed to be--avocado on toast, and yet it's so much more. So get it, eat it, and thank the universe that you have a mouth.

In these times, when long-running LA restaurants are shutting down everyday it seems, you've got here a committed and passionate crew throwing themselves into something new and creating some of the best dishes I've had since this pandemic has started. They deserve every bit of success this restaurant gets and I for one will be back again and not just for the dumb avocado toast (I didn't mean that, I love you), but to support the dedicated people that brought me something new and exciting during these weird times.
