The Destroyer and U Boat tasted great. The price seems reasonable due being on a retired USS Iowa Museum. It may seem high but I spent about the same for a Super Dodgers Dog at Dodgers Stadium. I'll be returning to try out the rest of the menu.
Vicky's Doghouse offers casual, outdoor dining, friendly, aims-to-please service, and a can't be beat location along the main channel at the LA Waterfront. First hour of parking is free, too. Hot diggity dog!
Great dogs, fries and onion rings with an up-close view of activity on the Port of LA’s main shipping channel. Check it out!
Best hotdogs in the area hands down. The view and service is unmatched!
I was very excited once I heard they were opening a small food spot on the USS Iowa, and it did not disappoint.
Ordered a couple of their hot dogs with toppings, a side of fries and a beer. Everything came out very fast and it tasted very good. Prices are a bit on the higher end for street food but not a big issue.
The reason why I can't give it 5 stars is that all the toppings on our hot dogs were extremely cold which felt weird to eat. The fries were underwhelming as they were soft and soggy. But the flavor of the bread, Franks, sauces and toppings was good.
The place is beautiful since you can sit next to the water, on the rear side of the ship and look at the port and a lot of the waterfront. It's a pretty cool experience.
Service is good and friendly, no complaints there. Definitely will be back and hopefully they'll have crispy fries and warmer toppings.
To find the place you just need to go to the back of the ship, and walk to the other side along the water. You will see a little container just in front of the rear cannons.
Forgot to mention that part of the 4 star rating is because they use a lot of plastic utensils and cups. Being by the sea, I would expect them to use some sort of ecological option.
