Market Grill was by far the best lunch spot in Monrovia, hands down, and I was so sad when they had to close. It says a lot about a restaurant (and team) that years later I would still regularly check their Facebook page in hopes they were re-opening. If you haven't been to Market Grill before, please do yourself a favor and go to their new location. The staff is amazing and the menu is full of perfectly executed classics (with a Market Grill twist), always delicious. I have had just about everything on the menu and haven’t had anything that didn’t live up to expectations. They just brought their homemade soup back at the new Gem City location (!!!), and it is always a must-order. I have tried a few of their rotating specials recently (Beer Battered Cod Sandwich, Shrimp Po Boy) and both were excellent. Forewarning, the Lemon Mint Potato Salad and homemade Ranch will ruin you for any others. Can’t recommend this place enough and so happy to have them back in Monrovia!
I ordered the beyond burger with a side of red cabbage salad. Burger was delicious and service was great. My coworkers also enjoyed the sandwiches they ordered
From the Bay to LA, Hats off to this power house couple who brings freshness, quality and a lot of flavor. Not only was the food amazing the staff was just as good.
Comfort food crafted by a true artist. So happy Market Grill reopened. Literally can’t go wrong with anything. Care and quality are the secret ingredients, their love and pride for food immediately jumó out at you with every bite. Regulars know, if you haven’t tried them yet, take your time to head out to Monrovia and give them a shot, you won’t regret it.
This location is attached to the liquor store. When you first look at it you're like "wow really?" You actually have to enter into the liquor store to get to the restaurant which I find very.. different. They do have a small little parking lot. This place is located across a park and around residential area, as if the restaurant in the liquor store wasn't already odd enough! Well, you shouldn't let the look fool you because the food here is good.
I've only had a Veggie Sandwich and it tasted fresh. I believe there were tomatoes, sprouts, hummus, avocado, garlic-mayo on wheat bread and I have to say that I really enjoyed it.
The service here is great! I do plan on coming back to try out other items here for lunch.
Please note that my review on this establishment was in 2010.
