“Wow!!!!!!! The donuts are amazing. Each donut has a different texture to it, more than just different flavors to the same type of donut. They have a huuuge selection of vegan donuts too, which is much appreciated. They clearly put a lot of effort into their selection. Savory food is also delicious! “I LOVE THIS PLACE! What an unexpected gem! Girasol Cocina serves a delicious and hearty Mexican breakfast. HUGE portions! I got the tacos, and it took me all day to eat all three! Amazing breakfast potatoes! I usually don’t even like potatoes. Friendly staff, and our meal was out quickly. The place feels super clean, too, which I really like. It makes me trust the kitchen. I also got the sense that all of the ingredients were carefully sourced. The tortillas were perfect! ALSO- TERRIFIC COFFEE!!! I highly recommend- I will be back again!”

“Was craving for empanadas the other day and saw Lord Empanadas in Monrovia. Decided to give it a try, it is a little pricey, $3.50 per piece, 1 dozen for $36. At first, I didn't see the price for 1 dozen, so I bought 8 empanadas which cost $36, I wished the lady at the cashier told me about the dozen special. I went back 2 days later to get 1 dozen, 3 beef, 3 chicken, 2 pizza, 2 sausage and 2 bacon. The reason I went back was because my wife and son wanted more, they loved it very much. The beef and chicken empanadas are very good, a great mixture of spices and flavor. Pizza is pretty normal which my son loved. The breakfast sausage and bacon are great too. Overall, great empanadas w/ excellent outer crust, however, in my opinion the fillings are too little.”

“Cute little coffee shop on Myrtle Avenue. I visited twice last week. I tried their avocado toast, tuna melt and cappuccino. Avocado was creamy with crunchy radishes on top. Rosemary bread was crispy for my tuna melt and the tuna was not drowned in mayo. Excellent smooth cappuccino as well. I went on weekdays for lunch so service was quick. I'll return for more.”

“This is the best Thai food I have ever had. Chef Thai (that's his real name) really made our dining experience. I took my parents who have never had Thai food before and Chef Thai made recommendations that were spot on. Food was very flavorful with just the right amount of spice and served family style. You could taste the freshness and flavor in the vegetables, like they were picked in the morning and served in the evening. The ambiance was like being at home, eating a meal in your own dining room. I will be returning very soon.”

The food was average, it wasn't anything special but then again I just had the chicken pesto panini. I did love the coffee it was really strong. “Market Grill was by far the best lunch spot in Monrovia, hands down, and I was so sad when they had to close. It says a lot about a restaurant (and team) that years later I would still regularly check their Facebook page in hopes they were re-opening. If you haven't been to Market Grill before, please do yourself a favor and go to their new location. The staff is amazing and the menu is full of perfectly executed classics (with a Market Grill twist), always delicious. I have had just about everything on the menu and haven’t had anything that didn’t live up to expectations. They just brought their homemade soup back at the new Gem City location (!!!), and it is always a must-order. I have tried a few of their rotating specials recently (Beer Battered Cod Sandwich, Shrimp Po Boy) and both were excellent. Forewarning, the Lemon Mint Potato Salad and homemade Ranch will ruin you for any others. Can’t recommend this place enough and so happy to have them back in Monrovia!”
